Design Process
1. Consultation

The design process begins with a consultation, a meeting in the garden to find out your needs, objectives and the style that best suits your personality. It is also important to get an idea of your budget and timeframe. After the visit, a mood board filled with images for giving an initial idea of what the designer has in mind for your garden is provided.
After that, if you agree to go ahead, the deisgner needs to collect any useful info about the garden collection of information about your garden, both on site (soil analysis, environmental conditions analysis) or doing research online. For large gardens a physical survey will have to be commissioned to trusted surveyors.

2. Survey and Analysis
3. Outline Design

The outline design or masterplan is the designer’s scheme for your garden. It is a 2D image which you will receive with perspectives or 3D images, elevations, a mood board and material palette.
Your feedback at this stage is essential. A final design will be agreed before moving ahead to tender.
Technical specifications and detail drawings help your contractor to quote accurately and build the garden to the design. Drawings include construction of paths, steps, terraces and driveways as well as planting plans. The designer puts together a complete information pack for the tender and invites two or three contractors to quote.

4. Detail Drawings
5. Build

At this point, the design is handed over to the chosen contractor for construction.
The designer is on hand to support the contractor and can be retained to oversee the build or project manage.
Keeping your garden looking fantastic depends on good maintenance.
The designer can provide details of trusted gardeners for this purpose or give you all the information to care about your garden.
